I just got a new Phantom and the efficiency of Horrible. I'm getting maybe 15 usable shots.
There's no leaks or anything that i can see wrong with it.
CAN ANYONE TELL ME WHAT MIGHT BE WRONG WITH MY PHANTOM?

You have a chrono? Probably shooting hot. Back off the TPC a couple of turns and see if that helps.

its chronoed at 275
the air temperature was 60ish
wasn't shooting fast

What brand 12 grams are you using? I found that some Crosmans are too long for the changer to thread in all the way and so I get only a few shots. It could also be that you didn't screw in the bucket changer all the way, unless you have a dropout changer. Have you called Mike about it?

Phantoms don't wear out, they wear in.
Right out of the box they can be horribly stiff, and often less efficient.
Put a couple of cases of paint through it, and you'll notice a difference.

I'll probably get flak over that statement, so folks may disagree but it's been my experience that it takes time to wear down the tight spots and let the springs settle before it really "feels" right.

i agree about the feel, i actually sold my bnib phantom and bought a used one cuz i didnt want to wait for the break in period for the pump stroke.

i didnt think about the other half "often less efficient" makes sense, its like gettin a set of break pads/rotors and settin em by holding the break while you drive.

just keep pumpin away instead of somethin else...  Wink
