Teenage Gun Hoarder

« on: October 23, 2009, 05:04:52 pm »

Okay, so here's my current scenario: My birthday's on January 3rd and that means a new paintball gun. I only had one paintball gun before it, a >$100 brass eagle semi-auto, so I don't really have high expectations for trigger pull, noise anything like that. However, I am torn between a 2010 Proto SLG (assuming it comes out by then), or a phantom with ano and acrylic goodies. The Proto set-up is about $350 including hopper, gun, and the tank with tank cover. The Phantom would be about $300, not including the 12 G powerlets. I initially wanted to get the phantom, but I'm worried that I'll regret my purchase and want something with all the full auto and burst gimmicks made just for us teens with an urge to destroy stuff.  Paint isn't really an issue for me, I don't shoot that often, but this 28 BPS thing probably gets out of control really fast in the hands of hyperactive kids like myself. So what do you guys think? Should I jump on the CCI bandwagon, or spend my youth using up all my destructive tendencies? I'm in a dilemma here, people!

I had a few semis/full autos, and I find more fun with a stock class.
In the end, its up to you what you want to have.

I've done some thinking, and mostly because Mike at CCI's working on a horizontal spring feed, I shall get(knock on wood, things always get messed up after I say I'll do them) a Phantom so I can randomly jump out on people and autotrigger them without having to worry about a noisy bulky hopper or tank. Also, the Proto will be uneconomical in the long run.

You will find that AT will get boring after a while and the sneak and hunt to be more fun all around.
Good luck to you.

I doubt that. I used to play airsoft in dense woods with my friends, and my tactics remained the same the whole time: Hide behind a tree, Do a really loud and shrill noise when they come by, jump out, and empty out a whole round of ammo on them. Always works.

my 1st marker i used was a tippmann rental.
1st marker i bought was a sniper.
shot a electro a few times but i don't like it.

just go to a field. ask if you may shoot someones pmr electro for a round of just some test shots and do the same for a phantom.

i own a cheap phantom that i don't want to trade for a elecro (when i do, i sell the electro en buy an new phantom;))

i love mine, but i know people that rather have a paint slinging electro.

gr

btw. i just turned 19, and only playing for 1 year. your never to young to play pump.
